I get why you are doing it, I still don't like stretch.  How does the bead stay seated?  What happens when you corner hard?  Not being a jerk, it really doesn't make sense to me.

There is a chance that the bead could come unseated from a big pothole. I definitely need to avoid those because I do not want to bend lips. Hard corners have never been an issue in the past. You just need to keep them properly inflated and then there usually is no issue.

the worst feeling is seeing one too late, sitting up on the wheel, closing your eyes, gritting your teeth

              bam, day ruined.

Haha I know you dont like stretch TJ;) At least the wheels will hopefully make you still love them regardless of the major stretch.

Whoever said those tire sizes wouldnt stretch on your wheel widths is out of their mind.  I wanna see them in person!  Are they at your house or the dirty-30?

I got a little done yesterday. The carbon was CAKED on. I had to let the alcohol soak in multiple times. I ran out of scotch brite pads so I will be finishing up Saturday.

                                        Before:

                                        IMAG0981zpsa698b30f.jpg

                                        After an Hour:

                                        IMAG0982zps13e1eec1.jpg

                                        IMAG0983zpsb852526c.jpg

I'm trying to think of an easy way how to get the rest of the carbon out of the reliefs.

Here is how I had to leave off yesterday:

                                        IMAG0984zps8fd4362a.jpg

It was way too cold and rainy to try and paint anything on my rear subframe too=/

In excellent news, the wheels got their first coat of powder yesterday. They would be done, but Shaun ran out of clear. Not a problem. They should be all done next week.

what are you using to get the carbon build up off? I.e. using a scotch pad to get it off the face of the cylinders, use a screwdriver/plastic puddy knife as an edge to get it down in the reliefs.
