          This is disturbin'

One time on the freeway I was thinking to myself that the ideal scenario in a sudden-stop on the freeway would be to be behind a semi and in front of a sports car with an attentive driver (that way you dont rear-end or get rear-ended :P ). I was behind a semi and noted that a kia was behind me (not a sports car).  not 30 seconds later the freeway traffic came to a sudden stop. I had full faith in my E30s stopping ability but not in the reaction time or performance of the Kia behind me, so as soon as I saw the semi lock the trailer brakes, emitting smoke and chunks of rubber, I moved right onto the right shoulder to hit the brakes. The Kia slid in to the position I was just in and I would have been rear-ended and possibly submarined under the semi trailer.

I generally try to avoid following semis in heavy traffic if I dont have to. The geometric mis-match can turn a minor fender-bender into something awful.

^I always head for the shoulder, its something almost no one on the road does, and if they do, they don't head for the shoulder, they ditch dive. I always fear, with how low my car is, I'll go under a car. or a car rear ending me will hit and go into the cabin of the car. That and I hate car accidents. I've been in alot of brutal brutal car accidents as a passenger.

The semi thing though, fuck would that suck. I never follow behind semi's

Why is everyone so stingy with moving on rim prices. They say shoot me an offer and say that the price shown is bottom dollar

Rims now a day's is like the honda community. Rusted out D16y6 EG coupe, $4500-firm. Like, that things worth like $850 at most..

Rim people think rims are worth a lot, because rims are the main focus now a day's..

For low quality tire shop wheels=) I completely understand the costs of wheels. The labor it takes to make a good quality set makes up most of the price. The materials aren't cheap either. Then you get into the old and rare wheels. They're collectors items. There are reasons why BBS RS's are insanely priced.

I also usually put things for sale at the price I would like to see. I don't like to jack the price up so people come down to my level. I put up my price stating it as firm so that I don't get crazy low balls. I still ended up with $800-$1000 offers on my Style 5's. When someone posts something for $1600; that is a slap in the face.

Imagine having a car listed for $10,000; and then someone asking if you would take $5,000.....you would flip your wig. hahaha It is the same scenario. I ended up letting my Style 5's go for $1200 just to get rid of them. The tires were basically new and the wheels were straight and freshly refinished a few months prior.

Actually, there's no reason for BBS RS's to be $3,500+ They're not as rare as you'd think. I've seen lots of sets for sale, GRANTED they're not Rota slips. But either way. The price of rims is ridiculous. $3,800 for 17x8.5" Work Equip5's is too much. It's funny though, cause older (rarer in my opinion) OZ Fittipaldi's/futuras are like, $1400 MAX in 15-16x 8.5-10.5 sizes. Some people are just lost in the sauce.

The size is what makes those costs so low. There are so many iterations of RS's. There are a ton of rare versions out there in certain offsets, bolt patterns, and sizes. When you think of the price of those wheels new, it all makes sense. For a quality set of brand new multipiece wheels, you're looking at $4,000 plus. I'm not letting my Breytons go for any less than $2,000 once they're built. It is how the quality wheel game works. It's not cheap to roll hard.

I know size is is the most part. And I know a set of new 3 piece rims cost $4,000! I've looked into Rotiforms numerous times. And cried a little everytime I got my quote for my 17x10.5" +5  offset, set of rims...

It would be nice to find a set not bent like what is on the car or at least 3 of them. But don't see any and don't want to spend $175 each rim. Found some for $250 but they are 20mm offset so that will be a problem I believe I need 40-50mm offset or something.

Rims that are aluminum have to be 17" and cheap. I believe they are 40 or 47 mm offset. there for e46 330xi. If they fit and are 17" that works for me. Can't be smaller the caliper is really close to the rim with 17's and I have new tires on garbage rims so I want to stick with the same size rim.

Too bad.. Cause I have a set of rims and tires that' i'd let go for cheap. Came off TJ's E46 touring. 16x7 +47 offset. I almost guarantee they'd fit your car.

one has a slow leak( not bad at all) LMK if you might be interested, I know they're not what you're looking for. But hey, they'd atleast let you drive the car around.

Wish they where 17". I know 16's won't fit just because the tip of my finger barely fits between caliper and rim

It all depends on the width of the wheel. You can fit a 17x8 et0 if you want. E46s have insane amounts of room in the fenders.
