            Bumpin dis thread.

A buddy of mine left his front mount in my shop, so I was just toying with this idea a little bit...  ;)

            1-3zps1c6bb8e1.jpg

Anyway, here you can see my green motor mounts that is practically tore in half vs a brand new condor speed shop "m50 into e30" mount.  Im really excited to run these mounts!

            2-3zpsc274f8af.jpg

Now lets jump to the m50 itself.  I half-ass painted the block just so it wasnt rust color, and also got the right studs in the head.

            3-3zpsc9235f9a.jpg

And the head is back on and torqued down.

            4-2zps39663e3f.jpg

Shes getting impatient with how long this reconstructive surgery is taking

            5-1zpsa2d4a154.jpg

I also got my IE strut bar.  Unfortunately they sent me the wrong finish...  I wanted the raw/stainless finish, not black.  But whatever.  Also an e36 short shifter.

            6zpsd1a5633a.jpg

Thats all for now until I can convince TJ to come by my shop with his timing tools :)   Im gonna give it a shot timing it myself.

Did you have to drop your struts a little to fit?   It looks like Im going to have to drop the coils out in order line the holes up.  But thats awesome!  Im excited to see how it feels!   Im actually pretty bummed they sent the wrong one, the brushed finished would have looked so good 😕

From what I know I really only need a cam lock, right?  Just to torque the sprockets on?  I do not have a set of these.  What else is there?  The flywheel isnt attached so any flywheel locks dont count.

Yeah, I was just wondering if that was what you were talking about or not.

You don't REALLY need one, but it is nice to have.

The VANOS rotating tool is awesome, but if he doesn't have one you can get by without.

Made my way over to TJ's the other night to pick up some timing tools, also drooled over his wagon and m3 a bit while I was at it...

                            Timingtoolszps80a574cf.jpg

Got the cam lock on, which Im almost certain the cams are set to tdc right now.  The valves on cylinder 1 and 6 are all the way closed so I guess it makes sense?

                            camlockonzpsda3c5f30.jpg

Then more work on the actual car itself.  Dropped the control arms to get new inner and outer ball joints pressed in by a friend of mine.

                            frontstuffpulledzps587c4320.jpg

                            Controlarmsdroppedzps3c3fdf50.jpg

I wasnt planning on doing this, but oh well.  Now Im probably going to end up dropping the front subframe and get a new sway bar, bushings, and endlinks and whatnot.  Since it all looks terrible.  Like, actually fucking disgusting.

On another note, these guys arrived the other day

                            datheadzps66e3fe33.jpg

And how she sits now.  Im still disappointed I was sent the wrong finish strut bar..  I might take it to a shop I know to have it chemically stripped to a raw finish how I originally wanted.  Its just too much black for me.  Awaiting Snap's response to that.

Yep! I want this rebuild or whatever it's turned into now to last a solid season or two. Might as well take time when its shitty out to get it done! In still aiming within the month to finish it.

However, I'm leave for Texas tomorrow morning and won't be back until next Saturday. So that's a weeks worth of work I won't have. But whatever. Paid vacation in 80+ degree weather? Yes plz.
