Hardly. running no muffler didn't help or hurt it really. And factory bumpers are fucking ugly...

-AE86 with rattle-can hood in the background = DRIFT KING

-"took it easy for the first 2500 miles" = "but after that I beat on it"

        - "I also have two basically new tires for it" = For Drifting

        - "I did an autocross event" = "I tried drifting in a Kmart parking lot"

        - "with the muffler off" = "Drifting is cooler when theres more noise"

        - "I can't really afford it at the moment" = "I cant afford to properly maintain the car."

I could be 100% wrong, BUT, if you dont want to get burned when used-car shopping you have to be very critical and a bit of a skeptic.

In other news, Today my wife and I find out if we are having a boy, or if we are having another girl. If we are having a boy, then I will buy car parts to celebrate. If we are having a girl, then I will buy car parts to celebrate.

note to self, I can't read any of your posts in class. I sit in the front and get some strange looks.

but hey, congratulations boy/girl, and yes, buy more car parts.

If you dick-around on the computer during class they will eventually send Roscoe Raider, pirate ship and all, into your classroom and things WILL get a bit western.

Congrats on the addition to your family.

I tried hard to make my child's initials be BMW but I lost out on the "M".

Nice to know some of us with kids can still afford to buy things. /boohoo

Thanks, I always feel a little bad for the guys on CL with cars for sale which mention something along the lines of "kid on the way, need something with 4 doors, need money for kid" etc.

As much as I would like to cash-out and build a quad-turbo twin engine S54 AWD E30 made of pure carbon fiber, At the same time, I am glad my wife keeps me in check so that I dont build something like that and have to sell it when we realize its time to go grocery shopping :D

I told my wife I was going to buy a sensible 4 door family sedan. Came home with my M5. She didn't buy it, but couldn't argue the 4 doors. People get a kick out of the kids seats.

When I bought my shift linkage from UUC, I came across the company history and had a laugh:

                                http://www.nexternal.com/uuc/articles/UUC_history.htm

"What is UUC Motorwerks? UUC is the acronym for Underground Upgrade Club.

For those automotive enthusiasts who have "significant others" (wives, husbands, etc.) who do not understand the desire and need to enhance the performance of a vehicle, welcome to the club.

If you ever get these kinds of questions: "Why do you need new wheels when the old ones are fine? Why do you need new suspension if the current ones aren't worn out? Isn't your current car fast enough?" - we empathize with you. You might just have to hide a few things from the Missus or your Old Man. You know the drill...no credit card or check purchases... sneaking cash to buy upgrades to feed your automotive addiction. For your convenience, UUC Motorwerks accepts cash and we ship discretely. We can even ship to your employer!..."
