Like above, spark plugs must ALWAYS be torqued and it's a good practice to put anti seize on the plugs when they're going in.  If they're properly torqued then you won't have this problem.

Thanks. Yes, a less expensive option. And the truth is that I'm not one who will appreciate all that adjustability with a coilover. I read somewhere, someone said, "I'm an enthusiast driver, not an expert". Which describes me quite accurately. In terms of suspension systems, yes i understand coilovers>shock/springs combo>OEM On my Alfa, I have an Alfa approved lowered springs (made by Eibach) and Bilstein dampers which I really liked (prior to that, I had a full Eibach or KW set up, which was way too aggressive for my daily need). But couldn't find the Bilstein when i needed to replace them. Ended up with Sachs dampers. Anyway, the Alfa is a different animal from the 335. Anyway...that's another story. I suppose part of the issue is that there aren't that many 335i in Malaysia. I could be way off, but I'll bet there are less than 100 in the whole country. As an indication, the official BMW dealer here told me that at the time of the E92 launch, they only every sold less than 5 units. Most running around now are grey imports from the UK (like my unit is). So, there doesn't appear to be much camaraderie in terms of info sharing. I've seen other varients of the E92 on the road...again, not that many. So, back on topic : Maybe I'll go the B12 route then try to get KW to rebuild the V2 dampers (if it makes sense to, cost wise), and we'll see. Here is Malaysia, services are relatively cheaper. So we don't really bother with DIY. The adventure continues....

I love M20 builds. I wish there were more around although the idea of a swap has crossed my mind a lot lately.

That's all subject on what you plan on having done. If its just installing a lip, I would suggest doing it yourself unless you are scared of drilling holes in your bumper. When I was working at CS Motorsports I installed a rear diffuser, black grills, carbon deck lip, and a front lip on a an F80 M3 and it was pretty straight forward. Even pulling the bumper to do the work is easy.  It's usually about 6-10 screws holding it on.

Andrew You'll be able to visually tell when lining it up. If you lay in the trans tunnel and look at the diff input flange through the oval in the rear subframe you should see which side it is offset towards.

You really need to be dedicated to throw that kind of money away. I got into the N5x platform because it's supposed to be "relatively" cheap to mod I'll just grab my MHD flash and throw a meth kit on the car and be happy getting a nice bump from 475 to 525, and be ahead of the game by like $13,000 and still retaining a streetable vehicle

That was cool, really cool.  Thanks for posting it. I realize this is a BMW forum but... Four or Five or so years ago I bought an air-cooled 911 with the intention of driving the piss out of it.  I wanted to load my wife and kid, take only as much luggage as we could carry and road trip in it...things like take mostly backroads out to see my sister in Wyoming, maybe drive all the way down to the Florida keys in it and such. Because I'm stretched too thin time and money wise, it took a couple years to get the car sorted for being ready to do these kind of things and not have issues.  Not sure if you guys watch them but in that time, the car nearly doubled in value.  Then suddenly I'm having these thoughts about not piling miles on it even though I SWORE TO MYSELF I was never again going to do this "saving it for the next guy" crapola. Next thing I knew, 4-5 years have gone by and I hadn't really gone anywhere in this car. Finally, two weeks ago I drove it out to watch the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix. ~1200 mile round trip.  It was quite awesome.  I hadn't enjoyed driving that much in a long time.  I could go on but will spare you.  Life is too short to miss out on stuff like that, drive the damn cars.

Hey everyone, I tracked down a manual trans. 528i Touring a few weeks ago but the rear jacking points are looking pretty rough. I would like to talk to a couple body shops to see what they would charge to repair them. There are tons of body shops out there but I would like to find one that is good with rocker panel/pinch weld repair like this. I live in Plymouth, WI but traveling 50-75 miles would be no problem. It looks like Prestige Auto Works in Milwaukee would do a nice job but I bet I can't afford them lol. Anyone have any recommendations or experiences? I'm also contemplating doing the metal work myself but figured I might as well see what professionals say about it. Thank you in advance, -Tim
