Hey all, I'm rebuilding the front and rear suspensions in my E39 528iT and will need an alignment when I'm done. There is a lot going on under there so I wanted to get some recommendations for places that will do the alignment CORRECTLY. I've gone to Accurate Alignment in Sheboygan for a couple of my cars and Mike has done GREAT work but I wanted to get some input from the BMW crowd. I live in Plymouth so Sheboygan County and Fond Du Lac area would be perfect. Thanks in advance, -Tim

I see Audi Sx cars everywhere, rarely ever do I see someone using any of the car that it is. Is bmw trying to follow their car selling technique, idk. What I do know is that I don't see a lot of M cars. People drive M cars for a reason. It's completely up to bmw, if you ran a company and knew you could make more money you would.  When people buy these cars. (By these cars I mean luxury sports car, M, S, Amg) they think wow this better then the rest of them. Well of course it is, it has different bumpers, side skirts, aero, interior, and other little things. Also it has more power and different suspension? "Oh it's the most expensive one... I'll take it" These cars fall into a status symbol now not a driving experience.  Bmw flew into the sun and got in front of the game, now everyone is caught up.  The fastest way around the track is in a formula 1 car. Who is going to buy that?

The kidney grilles have been a point of contention with me.  Honestly, I'm glad to see the headlights don't touch them......that is a win to me. If you look, the new mercs have been getting much larger logo's/grilles as well.  It stems from the European DOT (whatever it's called) making stricter rules for pedestrian impacts with cars.  They don't want the people laid out on the hood, or getting plowed over (going under the car.  The only way to combat that is to make a larger vertical surface at the nose of the car.....thus larger kidneys/grilles. Not a fan, but I get what they are forced to do.  Again, so glad the headlights don't touch the grille, I hope BMW goes away from that as a whole, as it really took away from the kidney look.

Wow, I am surprised the shocks are already in need of replacement at 6 yrs old. Are you looking for factory ride quality or something with firmer handling? If it were my car I would probably opt for the factory Sachs replacements. Does the car have electronic damping control?
