It could also be the rubber hose. The hose could be acting as a check valve, basically, holding the brakes tight. I believe they make a caliper rebuild kit also. If so, the guys on e46fanatics would have a DIY. For what its worth, do both.

Heads on m50/m52 are the same besides having an extra port drilled and tapped for the coolant temp sensors.  Cams and trays for m50 are different than m52 I think this is why different part numbers, they have the same profile but the m52 cams are thicker and will not fit in early trays.

Go to walmart and get an orange puck air freshener. They should be on the lower shelves by all the other car fresheners these babies work miracles and last forever and they smell great. One of these got rid of the smoke smell from one of my older cars.

Oh, I am still using stock tune.  Is the UUC one worse than others?  I think a bigger issue is the super smart folks replacing the harmonic balancer with a under drive pulley.  I'm sure the flywheel is important but the harmonic balancer is what keeps the crank in one piece.

AC on my E30 would work if not for a leak in the system somewhere.  Seems like it's in the low side fitting.  Can't do anything with it now as I tried to put REDTEK refrigerant into it and now no AC shop will touch it.  Don't know how to work on AC systems myself.

I'll probably just get a reman unless anyone has a good head they would like to sell.  He is wanting to get it on the road soon, how did you bend the valves on a chain drive engine?  Also any recommendations on suppliers?  If nobody has a better suggestion I will go with Clearwater Cylinderheads out of Cali.  Does 850 sound like a reasonable price?

Gee, that third link you provided wasn't very helpful... didn't even seem BMW-related. [image: ;)] I think got my answer from Penske Parts and this is the breakdown of what I found: #11517546994 - No longer available since 2007-02, superceded by 11517563183  #11517563183 - No longer available since 2008-04, superceded by 11517586925 #11517586925 - Currently available My belief would be that if Penske Parts couldn't sell it to you, I would hope that BMW stopped using those part numbers in manufacturing by the dates they were no longer available, if not sooner. Thanks for the links!

Brian said: but with an M20, there really isn't any turbo lag, unless you go with a HX40+ or the likes. Just because you have a hx35 does not mean your not going to have lag. It depends on your tune and also the exhaust housing. If he had something like a 1.07 or even a .94 I bet there would be lag and wouldn't see boost till around 3.2k. Also looking at the compressor map for that it isnt in the efficiency range until around 19-22psi which would mean he probably need a built lower end. Also hx35 is a was outdated turbo technology wise. A t3 garret or borg warner would be leaps and bounds better especially for what he plans on using the vehicle for.

That sounds like an awesome suggestion.  My indy told me it would cost about $200 to change the fittngs, evac the R12 and put in new refrigerant.  $75-100 is a much better deal, and sound like a better solution.  Figured you'd all know some good info. How many cans of this stuff is equivalent to 2lbs? Thanks!!
