Huh. For all these years I was basically copying someone else's thread title.

As Snap said reliability is the key. Granted wrenching is fun but it's no fun if the car is breaking down on you especially if you've paid for track time.

snap said: Nice photo I like that those aren’t a style of wheel you typically see on an E90. A dab of ride height reduction and some 15mm or so spacers would finish things off nicely Thanks! I was going for something different so it would stick out a little. I definitely need some coilovers, trying to work on something to make that happen sooner than I initially thought. I think the stance will look better once its lowered some, the rears should tuck a little and the fronts are pretty spot on. Of course we have snow on the ground now so I don't want to drive it on these tires, I ended up going with the Pilot Sport 4S, they don't like the cold.

Rekpoint said: You could always do a whole interior redye. It would be a huge undertaking but if you like black interior it may be worth it!  (Its also something you could do while waiting for the lift) Ive thought about it. Not sure its something I want to tackle. If I found a full donor interior I would do the swap, but I dont want to dye. The rear seats have some seams separating, and the door cards/rear seat sides arent in the best shape on the top edge from, what I assume is, sun damage. Hard to find vert parts though.

The grinder laying out may lead you to believe I’ve cut some things... the core support did indeed shear on impact nearly symmetrically on both sides... when I get I chance I’ll be measuring some things, I have my 86 to reference but if some of y’all have some cars apart keep me in the loop.

Rekpoint said: I think it is a factory color choice if I'm not mistaken. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk Its a factory color only available for the Ti's. Finding production numbers pinpointing how many were actually painted in this hue wont be easy, but its safe to say a fairly rare color. I dig it, and assume it was only offered a year or two.  Sweet find!

reckedhim said: I have those same wheels on my e90 for my winter set up.  They look better on your car.  I don't like the way they look on mine. They're M3 offsets, maybe that's why? 18x8" ET20 all around, they definitely rub in front with me being lowered so much.

This is likely the last post of this thread until Spring season when I start to do some not-very-interesting-but-required aesthetic mods like tint, wheels, black out the chrome window trim, kidneys, etc.  So the car is officially on the road and overall driving great. Blizzaks were mounted yesterday. Still has a CEL for a bad o2 sensor, and I have noticed a couple things now after 150 miles of driving that I'm going to deal with. I used MT-90 fluid in the transmission and I believe that's a bit too thick for the cold climate as when the transmission is not warmed up, it's pretty fussy about the gears. This week I will be putting in MTL instead which should be more viscous. The rear passenger shock is blown and leaking so I have 2 new rear shocks on the way from FCP right now and will install those this week as well.  Overall I'm pretty much ecstatic about where the car is at right now and have been taking excuses to drive it whenever possible. Obviously working from home doesn't give me a lot of reasons to go out, but I'm trying to find them anyway because for the work I've put into the car, I'd like to enjoy it a little bit. It's crazy how much more engaging this thing is with a manual transmission.  Pic for posterity - yes it makes it up to 5th gear and does freeway speeds: [image: IMG\_1541.JPG]

Car was recently polished so its like a mirror up close in certain angles. See how it looks in different lighting the hoods silver and the sides have a tan hue lol.  That is indeed odd, because you are totally right lol.  Looks good! I've always had a soft spot for e46 M's

Snap said: The car looks pretty fast in the video and that says something because of how video can really dumb down the sensation of speed Thanks!  I've been dissecting this video since Saturday and making notes on where I did well and what I screwed up.
