The E90, developed a squeal today. Seems like the parking brake is hanging up and at low speeds making an awful squealing at low speed. Seems once up to speed it’s gone. I’ll have to pull the rotors off and see this weekend.

Its time for an UPDATE! Holy shit has the past month been a stressful but rewarding in the end, so thats why I have been slacking on updates here haha For starters the street tuning went well. There's still some touch ups the tuner wants to make which I'm fine with but the car rips pretty well! 20210526_200253.mp4 Here is the completed version for now. I made some delete panels for the rear diffuser, it turned out good enough lol. [image: 20210526\_211751.jpg] [image: 20210526\_212232.jpg] And with the tune being safe to drift on that meant it was time for some testing at DD80 at USAIR. [image: 20210530\_083412.jpg] The car did well, stayed cool the whole day even though it was not super hot out. The power difference is definitely noticeable although I still can't run 3rd. (Might have to consider playing with a different diff, but it does not hinder driving at all) [image: FB\_IMG\_1623329968985.jpg] [image: 670A6059.jpg] [image: 20210530\_164310.jpg] 20210530_161118.mp4 The bumper fell off and got scratched to shit so that's lame but oh well lol. [image: 20210605\_185350.jpg] The biggest issue that arose was the clutch was slipping once the car cooled down at the end of the day, not surprised that it glazed over lol. The current clutch was a FX "HD" kit with a single mass flywheel. Now began the headaches.... We unloaded the car on Thursday and put it on the lift. Pulled the trans and installed a brand new FX stage 2 kit (e36 style without the self adjusting pressure plate). [image: 20210603\_192145.jpg] While that went smoothly and the car was back on the ground and driving that Thursday night there was a vibration between 2k and up in almost every gear. I ended up bringing the car home from the shop anyways. I then decided I was not okay with that vibration, so I jacked the car up and pulled the trans out on the following Saturday.  [image: 20210605\_124313.jpg] I replaced the pilot bearing as I was ignorant and didn't do it the first time at the shop. I checked and retorqued everything without finding any true smoking guns. I drove the car Saturday and Sunday and the vibrations still persisted. So Monday night I went back up to the shop and snagged Sam's old FX stage 4 kit since we know it is tried and true.  Then on Tuesday I pulled the trans again and threw in the stage 4 kit. At this point I'm getting way to fast at this job lol had everything taken apart and back together in about 3 hours and 15 min hahaha [image: 20210608\_195328.jpg] [image: 20210608\_211153.jpg] I then test drove the car on Wednesday and the vibrations were gone thankfully! I also should have mentioned that the vibrations happened when free revving so thats how I knew it was clucth/flywheel related. Now the reason there was such a big rush to get this clutch situation solved is because we had a big event coming up at the Milwaukee Mile hosted by Track Day Direct. In final preparations for the Milwaukee Mile event I added some seems legit garage axle spacers. [image: 20210611\_121529.jpg] [image: 20210611\_121536.jpg] Now on to the fun! We made it!  [image: 20210612\_090633.jpg] The track was FAST and took quite a few runs to get the balls up to really send it. This was my first time drifting using 3rd gear and eventually I figured out how to set myself up to get back into second for the final turn, she didn't seem to have enough to let it eat in 3rd on the last turn but I would like to try again next time we are here. Here are some photos! There was a night session as well and I will share a few photos when they become available! [image: FB\_IMG\_1623802096538.jpg] [image: FB\_IMG\_1623594570809.jpg] [image: FB\_IMG\_1623629210185.jpg] [image: FB\_IMG\_1623699745800.jpg] Here's an in car. I really struggled on turn 1 and had to straighten and re-initiate into turn to but when I did that she absolutely ATEEE and thats where the speed came in! Super fun! received_499992047905259.mp4 received_499992047905259.mp4 received_318451406669939.mp4 received_681255366018396.mp4 And here is proably my favorite clip I have seen so far. VID_23610504_061746_537.mp4 All in all it was a great event. I learned alot and was able to put on a show too.  [image: IMG\_9232.jpg] I do have a few things I want to address before the next event hopefully. But summer and this season is off to a hell of a fun start!

Time to get summers on this pig. Anybody have suggestions or a hook up for the fox valley area? I have some used 16" tires I'll need mounted, think I'm gonna put them on 16" E38 style 5's.

Been a very hot minute since I’ve posted anything here. Winter 2018-19 through the summer of 19 I was doing engine work on my motorcycle. And just had low motivation to work on the BMW. But I started to tear into it during COVID. I ended up pulling the whole interior, going to be going with an all black interior. I acquired most of the swap from the parts car I had 4 years ago. The dove grey interior that was in it was pretty shot. But since about this past May I haven’t really touched it til this last month or so. I had Troy rewrap my engine harness.  [image: 9E8B4EB6-9964-4557-BFC0-FC669C4439A1.jpeg][image: E1460E3F-298D-4FA1-899B-0AD2C23A8B0E.jpeg][image: 9DC56F9F-29F1-4285-A12E-7CA2DD973047.jpeg] I’m also planning on going back to air. Picked up some bulkhead couplings today. Ran the front airlines today. And got the black carpet in as well.    [image: 7C15E9BD-03FE-468D-8DA6-39FF6C010C67.jpeg] Im starting to get a good amount of motivation for this thing again. So I may be posting more in again.

Great color and the interior looks really nice. I've always liked that "diamond" shift knob.

Once I get it in for an alignment this spring I can certainly come back and post a number for you if you would like.  Ah gotcha, for some reason I thought you were running coils/camber plates. Thanks! Good to know you can fit a decent tire without leaning them way in

@HipMF You're right, those are too restrictive. It would essentially make my engine run like it has a choke on all the time. I removed the info/pics on the post.

Long time, man! Bring it over to Late Model Throttle when you are ready to dyno it. I'll make sure you are taken care of. I have a tech that would die to see it.

Bassboy3313 said: How is the height of the seats? I put e30 sport seats in my previous e21 and they sat too high. I had to cut out both stock seat mounts and weld in two new ones that ran from rocker to trans tunnel to make the seat height where I wanted it.  I’d say they’re still an inch or two too high, but it works for me... I wouldn’t want to be much taller or bigger since the steering wheel isn’t adjustable. Comparing it with my E30, there isn’t too much difference.  Way more comfortable than the original seats though! B C said: You are probably already familiar with it as you are much more knowledgable about cameras, and video editing, but the Track Addict app and Race Render software are fun and can make for some valuable additions to video footage. http://racerender.com/TrackAddict/Features.html   the Bluetooth OBD2 dongle I use on mine doesn’t really have an adequate sample rate but its the cheapest one and was really only made for diagnostics (Carista). Anyways, it syncs with gopro cameras which is cool I've been meaning to look into this more! Gonna have to check it out and see if I can get anything setup before auto-x on Sunday.
