I heard that and new idle control vavle can do the trick. Do you guys know if this is true? and does anyone know if for e36's, if a idle control valve from a 328i is compatible with 318i? Also if anyone has a idle control valve for sale for a 318, please let me know:).</p>

Try unplugging it and see what happens. Wouldn't doubt if there are more vacuum leaks either.</p>

If your car revs up and holds it it's definitely the problem. That or a vacuum leak somewhere.</p>

<p dir="auto">I could see the ICV being the problem for sure, you should just be able to clean your current one. And no I do not believe a 328 ICV would work.</p>
