The R3v threads on this always talk about the grommet being a tight fit and mine is anything but. Slathered around it with black RTV for now to try and get a watertight seal but wondering if there is a different grommet I should be using. Posted the question on R3v but figured maybe someone here has insight?

Thanks for this. Just did a quick search and the issue with constant draw seems to be the red power wire. Luckily I used the white.

someone said:

The next thing you will need is a grommet to hold the base in place. When i called the dealer and asked for the grommet for a z3, they told me there were 4 different types. So i asked about the grommet for the 318ti and they had that one so i used it. It works perfectly and i don't know the difference between it and the ones from the z3.

318ti part #65218362369

maybe this answers your question?
