i have also 'pressed' in new OEM rubber mounts via a big hammer and some 2x4s. this is not a part that needs a precise fit. just make sure you line it up right the first time, or you'll have to start over with the burning/hacksawing.

If you're trying to remove it from the 'lollipop' housing you can cut the rubber out from the center and then make a cut in the steel ring with a hacksaw to split it (try not to cut into the cast part) and then you can pry it out with a screwdriver or something. If you're trying to remove it from both, you do both haha. I've used this method a few times and it works well, don't burn it out inside though that smoke is nasty. 

I highly recommend poly as a replacement, worth the extra cost on the install alone, just make sure you lube it up a lot so it doesn't squeak.
