<![CDATA[533i will not start sometimes]]>My 533i on a cold start is acting like it is not getting fuel. When I let it sit it suddenly starts as if fuel is getting in. I replaced the fuel filter and it now starts a little better but does not always start. Has anyone had this happen? Plugs were replaced also.

Correct. Its a more common name for the cold start injector on a k-jetronic/CIS injection system (called the fifth injector on a 4cyl etc) Apologies for being confusing

If you have a Bentley manual it has steps for walking through and diagnosing all the likely culprits.

It's a 1984 533i. There are only 6 injectors. Excuse my ignorance but I am guessing the coldstart valve is obviously separate but called the 7th injector?

Start by testing those items / acquire a service manual to do so
