I wanted to pick up something I didn't mind putting 25k miles a year on and would kill me on gas. I settled on an E60 as I have always like them. I thought about a 535, but knowing myself too well it would have been JB4'd within the week and I would have kept pushing it until I was back at square one.

Ended up picking a 2008 528i with 69k on the clock. Wont be touching it mechanically, but plan on fixing all the electronic bugs and add a nice wheel/suspension setup.

I figured I could use this to track all of the things I end up doing. Already fixed a door that didn't unlock remotely (just unplugged) a door that popped when you opened it (broken tab inside) and in the process set off the airbag light . Basically just I just want everything fixed/working so when I sell it someone can enjoy it without a bunch of little things being wrong.

Want to look into the full screen nav swap, but not at the top of my list.

It only came with 1 key so I need to buy 1-2 more of those. Passenger seat heater doesn't turn on (good things its summer), going to buy more plastic door rivets as half of them are broke now, I want to wrap the wood in carbon fiber, passenger side mirror is cracked, driver door has a ding, already picked up a roof rack, and a few other electronic things.

Here are a few (bad) pictures. Am I officially a BMW guy now?

I purposely avoided the V8 and figured it would be as reliable as a 3 series.

So far so good with it. It came with the airbag light on which I fixed right away and it hasn't come back. TPMS light should be off when my new antenna shows up. Only problem is a slight rub when turning because of the new wheels.

Kummrow and Andy did an awesome job for me. Great communication, good pricing, and they even stayed open late so I could pick them up after work. It won't be my last time going there.

I went outside on Saturday to do some work on the E30 and next thing I knew I had the E60 ripped apart so I could wrap the wood grain. Happy with how it came out, but damn I need to get going on the E30.

Unless something breaks or wears out (i.e. wheel bearing, lower balljoint, etc) it'll stay in place. Keep in mind that different tire manufacturers will have different dimensions even in the same size as well.

Do I need to be worried about this spacing? Most others are claiming to be running 245/45/19s no problem, but I was hitting without spacers and mighty close with. I am buying new tires so I can always step down, but like the bigger tire look.

So far the problem I have found vents are almost part of the wood (unlike the E39) so it will be hard to take those off and get them back on without breaking any of the plastic. It will be hard to take the vents off and hard to do properly without taking them off so it has gone to the back burner.
