Bmws wiring is normally pretty nice for swaps. And the e46 is pretty well documented.

I can't wait to build one some day.

You don't need to mess with canbus and all that jaz.

Look into e46 lsx swap wiring. They have it figured out for sure.

You can buy a pnp unit and anyone can tune it. I bet jay could accomplish it.

Whats wrong with Standalone ecu? The swap is basically plug and play, and then you have to wire up a standalone to your s54. You keep the stock e46 ECU to control all the canbus dash stuff, and use standalone ecu to drive the s54. 

Megasquirt is fully capable of controlling dual vanos, and its very affordable. Otherwise if you want easy, there is PNP standalones for s54. 

There is threads on BF.C about the whole stock e46 ecu for dash.
