<![CDATA[New from waterloo/madison area]]>I currently drive a 04 STi as a daily but looking to buy a 525i that has a 2nd gear grinding issue other then that besides the rear bumper missing it seems legit he wants 1000 dollars for a 1995 170k miles. What should I do I have never owmed one before but need something else for a daily while I build my STi. Here is my subaru btw.

Like others said, basic maintenance is key. Seen a good amount of E34's at the junk yard with intact rear ends, so your search shouldnt be that difficult. If the body is clean I would say go for it, E34's are nice cars

Like John said, cooling systems need normal maintenance on m50's. I am assuming it is a 5 speed if you are saying it has second gear issues. Finding a trans shouldn't be too terrible. 

The breaking point for more e34's is the rust. How bad of shape is the body in? If it is pretty clean besides having rusty doors, $1000 is a really good price.
