As I dive into this full-time content creator life, I'm trying to sell more of my BMW-inspired merch. What better way to do that than to do the infamous "buy a t-shirt, win a car" method!? Except I'm not in a position to give away a car... so instead, I'm giving away a Doc Race N54 intake manifold, or $1,000 cash if you're not into unreliable N54-powered BMWs.
Buy anything from my website and you'll automatically be entered to win: https://bimmerstreet.com
You'll get 5 entries for every $1 you spend. So if you buy a $5 decal, you'll get 25 entries. If you spend $100 on a hoodie, a couple t-shirts, and a keytag, you'll get 500 entries (+10 bonus entries for spending over $100). It's pretty simple.
If you’ve wanted to show support for all of the BMW content I've created over the years, this is a great way to do so. Not only will you get something physical in return, but you’ll have a chance to win big!

Having owned an n52 e83 for a decent amount of time, I will say it was a fantastic car. No major issues until 200k, when the transfer case started making funny sounds and I upgraded to an f15 X5 35i with the n55. That said, I can't imagine the e83 having kids...my e46 touring had more space. I'd go for the f25 in 6 cyl version if those were the only 2 options. If open to it, the x5 in either e70 or f15 might be a better fit. FYI, the e70 and f15 are identical, chassis wise.

How reliable are the e70 X5 35i engines?
I'm really drawn to the Audi Q5 of this same era, and honestly is my first choice, but the early engines have timing chain failures and really bad oil consumption, and it seems like each engine following that has similar issues. I don't mind replacing something that is a known failure, but oil consumption isn't an easy fix.

I'm a bit confused by this statement.
You got a component system, and didn't run the crossover? Are you not using the tweeters on the 9630?
At any rate, I have the same speakers in the Titan (to replace one blown speaker...) and have been pleased with their quality and ability to handle high volume with great clarity.

To connect the crossovers with the door speakers, they both have to route to the cross over. One way shape or form, some wire has to pass through the door for either the tweeter or the door speaker. I was not about to drill a hole through the molex connector in the door loom(which is how I saw people were doing it). And I don’t want to have a miscellaneous wire hanging in the door. Next time you’re back, you can hook it up and route it for me
I am using the tweeters, just have them connected to the factory tweeter harness.
Thank you to @YoungCRfor creating a separate thread for this. What I should have done from the beginning.
I said I would be done with mods, and I kind of lied. Albeit, this one isn’t a new item, but more of a rerouting. I was tired of having my phone cable strewn over my center console area from having to plug into the Sync ports at the front of the console. I also couldn’t ever close this roll top door at the front of the console due to this cable running out of it. The importance of the cable, is that it connects my iPhone to the truck to utilize Apple Car Play. Since this isn’t a 2021, I do not have wireless Car Play and have to have a hard wire connection like a peasant.
The solution? Drill.
Pulled the shifter trim surround off and was able to make some small holes in a couple of places to allow me to snake the iPhone cable through the structure of the center console to allow me to still use the function of the cable, but have it “hidden”.

This took me about 10 minutes, $2 in grommets, and made my center console area way more orderly. Love the result.

art is creative human expression. trying to remove the human from it seems sad to me. no emotion, no story, no heart, no intelligence or understanding of the effect the art could have. yes, a guy programmed a computer, but the point of the programming was for the guy to not have an influence on the art, just to get a computer to do it.
the took an 'ai' program that already existed and plugged in other peoples art that already existed - not much of that seems original.
and again, there is no actual car with art on it, like the last dumb bmw digital art 'car.' one of the endearing parts of bmw's art car program was the physical paint on the car. an artist applying their creativity to the surface of this machine created piece of equipment. it was a great contrast.
i find it hilarious that they didn't just pick one, they chose an array. obviously none were very good on their own so it had to be a collection to make it seem more interesting. quantity over quality. look at the high res images, the graphics arent even clear, they are all pixelated and fuzzy. its 2021, we cant even have 1080p art cars?
also, calling their own art a 'masterpiece' is so cringe. much facepalm.

I've succumb to the fact that I'm an old man. I get it, but I try. I look to you young pups to help me out.
I want to edit some videos, cut, insert other videos/pics, etc. Real simple. I made the few vids I want to play with in portrait mode (yeah, boomer, I get it). I down loaded Blender (free and powerful). Holy shit, way too complicated. It took 2 hours of video tutorial just to figure out how to make the video portrait on the editor, and it wasn't even a true fix, just a work around. So, I need something a lot simpler to goof around with. Preferably on PC, not mobile and definitely not Mac/Apple.
Any advice?

Your problem with this is that Blender is a 3D animation program more so than a video editor. Kind of like using After Effects to cut and space a video.
I agree with @suspenceful, Premier is a good program for advanced and basic editing, but it does cost money. If you are only looking to edit a couple videos, I think you can do a trial of the creative suite. Or, I think it's only like 10 bucks a month and you can get access to the creative suite and then just cancel when you are done.
It will also allow you to export at the resolution you want. You won't need two hour video tutorials on how to use it, but you might want to search for videos specific to what you are having issues with.
Edit: https://www.adobe.com/products/premiere.html?promoid=19SCDPSM&mv=other
You can trial for 7 days for free and then it's $20 a month.

414-294-5990 is the direct phone number for the ramp, which is where freight deliveries are held. I didnt get the exact address of which of their many buildings by the airport it was, but its one of them.
Anyways, yes, they will load skids onto customer vehicles with a forklift, or if the vehicle is the right height, you can pull up to the dock for direct loading.
She made it a point to say to make sure the vehicle is big enough/has enough clearance. they don't like to muck about if its a tight fit and will most likely will not try to load it if thats the case.

Thank you! I knew I should have looked at this thread before I called.
I got similar info, including the warning on size.
The crappy part ended up being that the thing I'm getting is from overseas, so what the $500 covers is also all the import paperwork/duties/tariffs etc. If I walked into the fedex place, I'd have to act as my own importer or hire one. So...the $500 to my door becomes a much better deal.
That all being said I'm really glad I even know this is an option now, and I appreciate the help. This could help out with domestic stuff a lot.
